Are you Diabetic?

Are you diabetic and afraid your doctor or family want to make you wear ugly beige, square and heavy diabetic shoes for the rest of your life? At one time, that was the only color and style they came in. Not any more! Light shoes are the number one priority of diabetic shoemakers now and they come in running, walking, casual, sandals and dress styles.

Your doctor or nurse educator has probably already told you how important it is that you protect your feet and that you exercise regularly. As well as showing you the type shoes best for your shape foot, we can help you understand what kind of socks and callus management products will protect you against sores on your feet and allow you to walk and exercise in comfort.

Are you diabetic but not yet on Medicare? Our shoes start at $85 for women and $90 for men. You should come in to our store to have us evaluate your sizing and foot type to help you understand what kind of shoe wear is best for your foot.

Are you diabetic and on Medicare? You are allowed one pair of diabetic shoes a year. It is a medical benefit so you are subject to the deductible and co-pay and must have a prescription. Your physician (the one who treats you for the diabetes, not the podiatrist) signs for it. You can come into our store to be sized and evaluated without a doctor's slip in hand and we will be happy to help you get the doctor's slip after you are here.

How about billing? We bill for Medicare diabetic shoes but we do not bill for those who are not yet eligible for Medicare benefits. However, if you are not of Medicare age or do not have a Medicare card, we will do the documentation and coding necessary for you to submit to your insurer.
