Definition: Copper socks have
copper technology woven into the fibers of the sock at the sole. The
copper ions provide antimicrobial protection – protection against virus,
fungus, bacteria and odor. Skin appearance has also been shown to
improve with wearing the socks. They are especially helpful for those
with at risk feet, such as diabetics.
Silver has been used in socks also for antimicrobial protection. The
difference is that the silver washes out of the sock after a certain number of
washings. Copper lasts the life of the sock.
The socks come as non-binding (best for diabetics), compression, normal
binding and sport socks.
Benefits: Diabetics and those
with skin conditions, such as toe fungus, athlete’s foot or ingrown toenails
are excellent candidates for copper socks. They provide protection
and, in some instances, are curative.
