First, an arch support that supports all 4 arches will stabilize posture and balance. Compare the Eiffel Tower (it’s foundation is simply 4 arches) with the Leaning Tower of Pisa—you get the picture. The postural aspect of arch supports aligns the body and often relieves back pain. For the feet, the support prevents the arch from flattening and provides shock absorption. Arch and heel pain disappear. We should all wear arch supports anyway because of the postural benefits. And this is something you won't need to toss aside after you have your baby.
When your feet swell, your toes will crowd and can cause blisters. Toe cushioning and straightening devices alleviate temporary toe crowding aliments.
Extra depth shoes have layers that
can be put in or taken out as swelling or foot length changes. As with the
arch supports, these shoes won’t need to be put aside after delivery.
Compression stockings are often recommended because they keep blood circulating
in the lower legs and feet. Swelling is reduced and you just feel better
in them. You'll want to keep wearing these after delivery because they feel
so good.
