Plastazote cushion S

Definition: Plastazote cushion s are made of closed cell polyethylene foam that is non-allergenic and used principally to make cushions and other devices for diabetics. When wearing cushions made of this material, the foot remains cooler, there is less friction in movement and bacteria is suppressed. Most with peripheral neuropathy, arthritis and diabetes say their feet feel much better when they wear cushions made from plastazote.

The Medicare diabetic shoe benefit provides each person 3 pairs of these a year. Assuming good hygiene, blood sugar control and correct sizing of shoes, they prevent plantar ulcers, calluses and other life threatening conditions in the feet.
