STRAIGHT LAST
Definition: A straight last
shoe is one where the right and left shoes look very much alike, with
little deviation in the forefoot. The intent is that the shoe be as
straight as possible.
Benefits: A straight last shoe
is good for those with flat feet who overpronate. A straight last prevents
the heel counter from breaking down as quickly as a curved or semi-curved
last will. Many small children’s shoes are straight last but fewer are
straight as the sizes get larger.
