BIO-ORTHOTICS EXERCISING SUPPORT WITH METATARSAL LIFT
Definition: Once the step
begins, the Winstep and Sundance supports move the foot in an even and
ideal foot
motion. These supports do not
accommodate to an individual’s foot – the individual foot
accommodates to the support. All 4 arches of the foot are supported.
This immediately improves stability and posture because support of all
4 arches moves the pelvis into the correct position for posture control.
A rigid plantar fascia (the cause of most foot problems) is exercised
and loosened. Flexibility and range of motion in the foot and ankle joints
increase with use of the support due to its being made of semi-flexible
materials. With the foot moving in an ideal foot motion, correct rotation
at the ankle joint provides correct rotation at the knee and hip joints.
Most other arch supports and orthotics support the longitudinal arches
(2 arches) with metatarsal support only used in select cases. Those designs
are based upon the theory that the heel needs to be positioned in subtalar
neutral (straightening of the heel) only. Support at the other 2 arches
are not considered key to optimal foot motion. Exercising and flexibility
of the foot structure is a function separate from arch support design
(obtained through stretching exercises or night splinting). Most other
supports are made of rigid materials as this keeps the heel in subtalar
neutral and most are cast and custom made.
These are the best supports for alleviating heel pain.

arches instead of the standard 2 which creates an ideal foot motion,
increased range of motion in all joints in the ankle and feet and improved

To Purchase: There are 2 styles of this exercising support. They are
made from the same molds with the difference being the density of material.
1) The Winstep is made of a softer material that may be easier to get
used to but will break down over time.
2) The Sundance is a denser material that rarely needs to be replaced
but may be harder for some to get used to if this is their first experience
with these supports.
The metatarsal support feels like a golf ball at first so some prefer
to start with the softer support and purchase the Sundance after the
Winstep wears out. It can take a few days up to a few weeks to become
fully comfortable for all day wearing.
Winstep and Sundance sales include a telephone consultation with you
to determine what is best for your feet. Size is based upon tracings
of both feet. This is easy to do and we tell you how to do it when you

in an ice tea color. Moves shoe to shoe and is washable with soap and
water. Air holes prevent added heat in the shoe.
Sundance: $190 per pair. 10 year warranty. Comes in dark caramel color.
