 Welcome
to Smart Feet!
The Sunday Afternoon Drive
Did your family ever go on Sunday afternoon drives together? If you
did, you probably have good memories of it. Instead of going shopping or
running
errands on a Sunday, select a destination, enjoy the scenery and enjoy
each other.
Savannah Wildlife Refuge:
You don't even have to get out of your car at the Savannah Wildlife Refuge (which
is in South Carolina by the way, not Savannah)! Drive through and view
magnificent waterfowl, alligators and scenery. On Hwy 17, north of Savannah,
just into South Carolina
Isle of Hope:
If only more neighborhoods were this idyllic! Isle of Hope includes a marina
with a variety of interesting boats. This is a neighborhood, not a commercial
area, making it all the more unique. Take DeRenne to Skidaway Rd., turn
right and right again on Rose Ave. and you are in Isle of Hope. Stay in
the car or just walk around. Isle of Hope Marina
Wormsloe Plantation:
Wormsloe and Isle of Hope are in the same neighborhood. You may as well do both
since you're already there! Your leashed dog can go with you through the
site! Visit Wormsloe
The Smallest Church in America:
10' x 15' church. In the South Newport area, Exit 12 off I-95 or go south on
Hwy 17 until you see the sign. You can even get married here, although
you won't have room for guests in the church. They'll have to stand outside!
The Smallest Church in America
Ft. King George:
If you go to the Smallest Church, stop by Ft. King George. They are in the same
vicinity. Very nice and interesting historical grounds. In the Darien area,
Exit 49 off I-95. Leashed dogs welcome! For more info: www.gastateparks.org
Daisy:
You've got to be able to say you've been to Daisy! It is a pleasant little community
on the way to Claxton. You have to go by the world famous Claxton Fruitcake
place anyway, so do both at once. Take Highway 204 west out of Savannah.
