INSURANCE COVERAGE QUESTIONS

If you want Medicare diabetic shoes: We are a Medicare approved diabetic shoe provider. We contact your doctor to get the necessary paperwork and we do the billing. This applies to Medicare diabetic shoes only. When you come to our store, bring your Medicare and insurance cards, and the name, address, telephone and fax numbers of your doctor.

If you want diabetic shoes and are not on Medicare: Where you are not on Medicare and are diabetic, we can fill prescriptions for diabetic shoes where your medical plan has coverage and allows you to obtain the products from us. You want to verify both with your carrier. For example, you may have coverage but your insurer has a contract with someone else to provide the products.

However, even if you can obtain your products here, we do not bill the insurance. You pay us for the products and we provide you with the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.

If you want arch supports, extra depth shoes or compression hose products: We can fill prescriptions for arch supports, extra depth shoes and compression products where your medical plan has coverage and allows you to obtain the products from us. You want to verify both with your carrier.

However, we do not bill the insurance. You pay us for the products and we provide you with the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.

If you are on workers' compensation: We can fill prescriptions for tie-up ankle braces (no air braces), arch supports, extra depth or therapeutic shoes, compression products and other items we might carry where you have a prescription and your workers' comp carrier approves it. We will need the insurer's name, address, your social security, date of injury, claim number, etc. We will bill your insurer.

If you want to buy something with your Pre-tax Medical Spending Account: Your pre-tax medical spending account allows you to put money away for co-payments, deductibles, medical and wellness products not covered by your insurance.

You do not need a prescription to purchase anything in our store, even though you may have one also. As a durable medical goods store, our products meet the qualifications for payment under the flexible spending plans. Bring your flexible card with you and we will run it when you make your purchase.
